Who We Are
We Don't Take Every Project. We Take the Ones We Can Do Right.
Outdoor Lifestyles is a boutique design-build firm serving the Merrimack Valley. We keep our team small, our standards high, and our project list short — on purpose.
Why I Built This Company.
I started this company because I like to build things — outside, in the dirt, with my hands. That's the simple version, and it's the truest one.
I've been doing this work for 23 years. Along the way, I've seen what happens when a project isn't done right — I've fixed enough of them to know exactly what that costs a homeowner. But I didn't start Outdoor Lifestyles to be the anti-bad-contractor. I started it because I wanted to build the kind of work I'm proud to drive past ten years later.
That's what drives the standard.
Not a mission statement. Not a business plan. Just the fact that I care about the work, and I'm not interested in doing it any way other than right.
Every design decision runs through one filter: would I build this for my own family? If the answer is no, we go a different direction. That's not a slogan. It's the actual decision-making process on every job. If I can't give a project the time and attention it deserves, I don't take it.

The Team
Small on Purpose.
We're not trying to be the biggest hardscape company in New England. We're trying to be the one you tell your neighbors about.
We intentionally limit the number of projects we take on each year. That's not a marketing line — it's how we keep the standard where it needs to be. When you hire us, you're not handed off to a project manager you've never met or a rotating crew of subcontractors.
Here's how it actually works: Mike handles every design personally — the master plan, the engineering, the material selection. When it's time to break ground, our Lead Builder is physically on your property every day, managing the execution. You have a direct line to both of them. Not a call center. Not a dispatcher. The people who planned it are the people who build it.
That's the advantage of working with a team that stays small. Nothing falls through the cracks because there's nowhere for it to hide.
What Our Clients Tell Us It's Like.
They tell us it didn't feel like construction. That's the highest compliment we get.
They say they were surprised by the daily updates — they never had to ask what was happening. They say the yard was cleaner at the end of each workday than they expected. They say the two-week check-in after the project was something no other contractor had ever done.
And they say the thing that mattered most wasn't the patio or the walkway or the fire pit. It was that they never had to worry about it. The project was handled, start to finish, by people who clearly cared about getting it right.
That's what we're building every time. Not just the space — the experience of having it built.
Our Promise
The 5-Year Craftsmanship Guarantee.
If something we built fails to perform within five years, we make it right. Full stop. This isn't marketing language. It's the standard we hold ourselves to on every single job.
- ✓
Permanent Stability: Every project is engineered to CMHA standards — the base work, the drainage, the edge restraints. The things you'll never see are the reason the things you will see last for decades.
- ✓
Controlled Construction: We can't eliminate the noise, but we can eliminate the chaos. Strict daily cleanup, organized staging, and proactive communication mean your family's routine stays as intact as possible.
- ✓
We Don't Disappear: When the project is done, we're still here. The guarantee isn't a clause buried in a contract — it's a direct line to the person who built it. If something isn't right, we make it right.
